Well, you gotta hand it to the bastards -- they're honest as hell about their appetites for our liberty and property.

ATF Wants To Go After All 5.56 mm Ammunition, Not Just Green Tip
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Thursday raised new concerns about surplus military ammo used in popular AR-15 rifles and pistols just days after pulling back on a proposal to ban the ammo because it could threaten police safety. In a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, ATF Director B. Todd Jones said all types of the 5.56 military-style ammo used by shooters pose a threat to police as more people buy the AR-15-style pistols.

No, Mike. If they were truly honest they would say that, ALL TYPES OF AMMO ARE DANGEROUS TO POLICE OFFICERS AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE BANNED.

The fear of one of the tiniest centerfire rounds is becoming palpable.

Living in their minds - rent free!

Perhaps they are reaizing that the next Democrat president is a faint hope ... emailled into oblivion.

The Obamabots are starting to think of life - and death - after their messiah has gone?

Now, due to the ATF web site, I know where ALL of the ATF offices are located. When they start confiscating and hunting us down, we will be hunting them down too.

These types have a habit, when ever their too clever by half plans implode, of stamping their little feet and throwing themselves on their bed vowing revenge. And just as often they are blowing hot air. We shall see.

Let me be clear: a ban on the manufacture, importation and possession of 5.56 and/or .223 ammunition will be a bridge too far. It will be a Waco, a Ruby Ridge, a Fast & Furious, and a Gibson Guitars, all wrapped in one.

So go ahead, Jones. I dare to you to do it. My fellow citizens need to be awoken to your tyranny, and you need to be cut down to your Constitutional size.

Is anyone really surprised?

Seems B.T. Jones is a pretty good huckster. He successfully sold apples and oranges as equivalent fruit to the Senate Committee without challenge. ATF is a "political child" created to preserve a cadre of federal agents left sans tasking by the repeal of Prohibition. Like a good child its rede bows to whatever political wind blows hardest.

As I've observed previously, this 5.56mm "controversy" is yet another "camel's nose under freedom's tent". Wise purchasers chose the 5.56mm chambering for its versatility. But BTJ let us peek into ATF's sack, and we can expect all, repeat all, 5.56mm ammo to be banned at some near future date. I've already advised my eldest to stock up on powder, primers, brass, heads, and tooling for his .

I've never claimed government tools weren't clever. With growing federal powers they've become more arrogant and lawless. What's taken place over fifty years won't be eradicated by one, or several administrations. But it won't happen unless all americans vote.
