If gun owners demanded it, NRA could lead repeal of Obamacare

With the new Senate majority set to take their seats in January, the potential to repeal Obamacare is now within reach. The key to making that happen is the National Rifle Association.

If they did that, I'd rejoin.

The Fudds don't even have enough sense to demand the NRA oppose permission slipping the Second Amendment and poll taxing the Second Amendment - and it's thought that NRA will stand up to repeal Obamacare ?

Really?

As an NRA Endowment member, and with my apologies to David Codrea for whom I have the utmost respect, I have to say that IMHO that story belongs on The Onion.

Name one time where the NRA ever did one constructive thing to defend 2A.

One Time!

One Thing!

It is not, has not been, and likely never will be the pro-2A organization that David and I, and many others wish it were.

They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Just pretend to do so in the fund raising letters that come very week like the rising of the sun.

Get over it.

Breaking: 3 Black Males Pull White Woman From Her Car, Beat Her, In St Louis

We didn't hand the Senate over to the Republicans so they could make deals with the democrats and ignore the voter mandate. We gave them the power to stop this president and his run-away administration.

So...since we know now that voting with our fingers didn't work, maybe we should just not vote anymore and let the democrats take over. Let them set aside the constitution and proceed with their tyrannical plan to forcibly try to disarm us. Then we can start shooting back...voting against tyranny with our little black rifles. Sound like a plan? Are you paying attention John Boehner? Because the rules of 4GW include ALL those who let this happen when they could have stopped it.

In the 06 election, I believe the American people told the Democrat party to shit or get off the pot. They were then given total unstoppable unbridled power to exact all their policy positions - power that not even the "minority" could filibuster, stall or avoid. Democrats CHOSE to usurp more manufacturing, more banking(including flooding the market with doubling the debt) and Obamacare. Their appetite for the liberty of the Citizenry has been on full display.

Despite lying media, the 6 year turnover envisioned by the framers has begun. In order to avoid CW3 kicking off, the republicans will have that same level of authority come 2016. That political faction will have the White House, a clear majority in the House and 60 votes in the Senate. The American electorate is indeed in the process of telling the pubbies to shit or get off the pot.
I want to hope the pubbies will do the right things, but hoping for change won't work any better for the (R) than it did for the (D).

The only way we actually avoid CW2 is to dismantle the controllers power - we have to take back ballot access, take back our grand jury process and force elected officials (regardless of "party") to live by the same laws as the rest of us. We must destroy the title of nobility tools like qualified immunity.

We have to face the judicial corruption that's taken place and then fix it. We must confront the foreign power that now controls all- the bar. We must toss the case law out the window, returning to constitutional boundaries. Then, the idiot Amendments (16 & 17) must be outright repealed. This simple function will restore the base check and balance of the government of republican form. These steps are the only way to regain our most powerful right - the right of free commerce, where Citizens are free to engage in private two party contracts. That can only happen when people finally understand that privileges are not government allowed permissions but instead they are what Citizens can do by right.
How far we have fallen! But it's not impossible to stand up again...

Why would the NRA move into other political areas?
It may be time for new leadership in the NRA, but taking on issues like Obamacare would be outside their mission statement.
So, hack away at the NRA since it makes you feel better, but like it or not, they're still the big dog in the fight.
I don't receive fund raising letters every week. I seldom receive fund raising letters. I have been a Life Member since 1975.

Er, good luck with that. Eventually you will understand reality, if you work at it.

BTW, it makes no sense at all for NRA to go off-topic with their lobbying, even though I hate Obamacare and everything else the federal government does. Those who run NRA are not going to get sidetracked like this, and it's silly to wish they would

An old joke goes:

Q: How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Only one, but the light bulb has to want to change.

The NRA doesn't want to change.

You want it to change? Get more Threepers to sign up as voting members. Then get them to actually pepper the board and board candidates with David's questionnaire (What questionnaire? You want to change the NRA but you won't go look for David's questionnaire?). Then get them to vote for board candidates that actually mention The Second Amendment in their published biographies in American Rifleman (many of the candidates don't).

The truth shall set me free? Not very likely. Here's some truth that will give you a case of heartburn. It takes only 55,000 votes to get yourself on the NRA board of directors. Only 1.7% of the membership can be bothered to vote. If Mike, David, and others truly represent 3% of America's gun owners we could take NRA over without breaking a sweat. Why haven't we done so? Maybe what some of us need is a little truth to light a fire under our behinds.

Here's some of it for those with the balls to read it. It ain't pretty.

Like the TV show used to say. "The truth is out there." But don't bother yourself looking for it. You're not going to do what needs to be done. And we certainly don't want you feeling guilty.

If you're still reading, here's the short version. If you're not an NRA voting member (5-year annual, life or above) and you don't actively research the candidates and submit a valid ballot for those who truly are pro 2A candidates, then you are part of the reason the NRA is what it is, and not what David wishes it was.

Deal with it.
