"We're coming for your guns. And someday, we'll take them." Another tyrannical collectivist moron fails to think through the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Gerald Ensley wearing a nice necktie.
Stop the insanity: Ban guns
I'm not talking about gun control. I'm not talking about waiting periods and background checks. I'm talking about flat-out banning the possession of handguns and assault rifles by individual citizens. I'm talking about repealing or amending the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
The author, one Gerald Ensley, has helpfully provided his phone number, 599-2310 (presumably area code 850, which is Tallahassee) and his email address, gensley@tallahassee.com. Now don't threaten the little wannabe tyrant, but a reminder of the wages of tyranny historically would perhaps not be amiss.
Julius Streicher. a "journalist" of similar stripe, with a different kind of necktie.

The article (please read it) is dripping with anti-gun stupidity, a case study in the mental disorder euphemistically called liberalism. After whining about 10,000 shooting deaths per year, he proceeds to demonize people that, among other things, want to ban abortion. What a freaking retard.

This man, "Gerald Ensley", is a menace to a free society. He deserves top billing on 'the list', followed by inverted display from a light post.

gee..
I need to graph out the number of threats against life here over time. But they do seem to be coming at an increasing rate.

Is this a sign of the times, or a sign of age of the author (and decreasing mental stability, or at least increasing desire for notoriety, of said age).

The nice thing about publicly formulated lists for some future 'reign of terror', is that the formulator generates their own 'unintended consequences'.

With all due respect to A2, one should also respect the rest of the Constitution & the Bill of Rights.

The comments on the article are fun to read.

Idiots never consider that if it were possible to effectively ban guns - that is, if a sufficient number of gun owners were so cowed by authority that you could demand they turn them in and they actually would - it would be unnecessary to do so.

This turd has been dealt with. "He" won't be the one going door to door.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what it is about liberals that makes them look alike. Hairstyle? Cloths? Expression on their faces? Don't know what it is, but I sure can spot them...from 100 paces!

I suspect that the name "Gerald Ensley" has now been added to a hundred thousand (or more) "lists" all over the country...

Apparently he doesn't really want any comments...

It's the liberals, stupid! They, and/or their ideology, are at the heart of every modern day social and economic problem our society is dealing with today. We need to find a way to outlaw what they do. Their ideology is a religion. It should be separated from the affairs of 'the state' and treated like the radical, cult pariah that it is.

Look at these 2 sites:

Now, provided that there's a modicum of human ingenuity still floating around out there, connect the dots.

Just a thought exercise, you guys from the multi-lettered agencies, nothing more.

surely there must be some good ol' boys in the Tallahassee area to bitch slap this sissy. Better yet, bury some drugs in his yard, call cops and say he's a dealer, and then get some popcorn and watch the fun. I'd love to have video footage of him in county jail for an evening or two. "He sure does have a pretty mouth" .. LOL

Re: invalid address, there's an extra period at the end. Remove that trailing period.

I had to stop about 25% through this drivel - my stomach was roiling and I felt like talking to God in the big porcelain telephone.

This guy is the very definition of "useful idiot", although I believe that more and more of the American public is seeing what is really going on - and for many of them it's too late, their rights are gone.

PS - dear "anonymous" liberal troll re: "lists" - your great leader Obola has plenty, as did the Clintons. Please crawl back into your hole.

Anonymous #4- The "increasing rate" that is occurring is due to the back stabbing, underhanded deals made by "journalist" such as Mr. Ensley. The part most liberals (democrats, communists, progressives, you pick) don't quite understand is there is a growing restlessness in this country. People are tired of closet communists attempting to run, twist and change their lives.

Notice how brisk guns sales have been..? They're not for target practice and hunting. When the closet communists have poked the Americans for the last time, there will be blood. Just to let you know- the police, lawyers and judges will not be able to help you. The 3% out number them hundreds to one.

Just something to think about before you go poking.

Thanks to Ensley for telling it the way all the anti-freedom types see it. We need this to happen more often.

"for your safety, please don't poke the bear." Don't poke Grandpa either, he is in high dudgeon and bad tempered on his good days. This means you, Gerald D'ensely. (and I'm not a robot)

Hi Mike,
I've seen better looking "Mops" hanging on the rack next to the soap and stuff in the grocery store!! Yer' right about the tie. 'Dude is heading for his own Hanging!! Remember the "Big Hanging" scene in the Eastwood movie,"Hang'em High," Ensley looks just like that "Whiskey Peddler" that got the "Big Drop!!" He's headdin' fer' it just like Julie!!!! In most movies I've scene depictin' a "Hangin'," the Hangman is "Masked!!" 'Remember the Hangman in "Hang'em" High" wore "No Mask or Hood!" And He did take a hit off a half pint of whiskey from his hip pocket before he tripped the trapdoors !! Ensley would be a good "Stand in" for the Whiskey Peddler!!
Got Gunz??,

First of all, that guy is an idiot. For example, he says:

"The Second Amendment has been misinterpreted. It says guns are permitted to a "well-regulated militia." That means trained citizen soldiers called into action for emergencies — because in colonial times every able-bodied man was required to be a member of the militia. It does not mean everyone with $50 and a driver's license is entitled to own a gun."

So the Second Amendment expresses the right of a military force to have guns? One might think that the very existence of that military force would presuppose that force being armed. Derrrp

Besides, we have the right to own weapons with OR without the Second Amendment. That we have this right follows from the fact that no one has any inherent right to rule over anyone else. Governing is a privilege granted by the governed; otherwise it's illegitimate. The only way to ensure that illegitimate government doesn't take hold is to ensure that the government never has the citizenry outmatched.

"The same gun freaks believe in banning drugs."

No, I don't. At least not for adult use in private. No one else who believes in freedom wants government to control our bodies, either.

They believe in banning abortions.

That's because many people believe abortion is murder. I personally take the middle ground on this subject, believing that abortion should be banned after a certain (early) stage of development in the womb. But that's another debate.

They recognize society bans certain things for the good of society.Sure: acts that harm others without their consent, acts that disrupt the lives of others, the possession or use of items that CANNOT be used without endangering others, and so forth. None of this applies to guns or most weapons.

"Let the hunters keep their rifles and shotguns; those weapons are ineffective tools in a mass shooting."

Apparently Charles Whitman wasn't aware of that.

Besides, even if all guns magically disappeared from civilian hands tomorrow, mass killings could still happen. For example, it's very easy to make acetone peroxide from common household chemicals. Even kids do it. What would stop some maniac from using that to kill lots of people?

"But we need to ban handguns and assault rifles for all but police and military."

Why would the police need assault rifles if the same weapons were outlawed for private citizens? What threats do the police face that other citizens don't? Or is the idea to make sure the cops can commit mass shootings?

What is it about a cop or soldier that makes him more trustworthy than anyone else? The fact that he works for a government? Sure, governments and their enforcers always do the right thing. Is that what history teaches us?

Yes, Mr. Ensley is a moron and a douchebag. But he DOES have the right to speak his mind, however puny it may be. People really shouldn't threaten him just because of his opinion. That's not in keeping with the principles of a real freedom-fighter. Just something to consider.

One more thing. People like Ensley WILL get the last laugh if we don't start getting serious about finding ways to overcome the growing technological gap between military and civilian weapons. A good example of such an effort is Max Velocity's thermal-blocking tarp. But there's much more work to be done.

Our guns will be no better than throwing rocks in the near future without widespread ownership of armor-piercing rounds (homemade or otherwise), especially in .308 and more powerful cartridges. These are still for sale on the Web (check out AmmoGarand.com), but it would be much better if people learned to make them.

Study the technology and methods used against guerrillas in Iraq and Afghanistan, and think of how you'll counter them, by teamwork, deception, and ingenuity.

Spread the word!
