Chris Christie Vetoes New Jersey Gun Bill

Chris Christie wants to be president.

The most powerful trump card in a politician's bag of tricks is selling out his base in exchange for a compromise from the other side. This is a corollary of that old Vulcan proverb about how only Nixon could go to China.

When Obama makes grabs at our guns, you can rely on the oppositional defiance reflex from [most] of the GOP and the other major players in the RKBA arena.

Should a President Christie make a grab at our guns as a compromise for [some GOP priority goes here], at least half the GOP and other major players in the RKBA arena will join the entire left in berating us over our "unreasonable" absolutist stance on RKBA.

This belief—combined with Christie's please-don't-throw-me-in-the-briar-patch track record on gun control—might be enough to make me vote for a democrat POTUS should Christie's name be on the ballot in 2016.

Sadly, this will induce clueless gun owners to vote for him. "At least he's better than Hillary," - except that he is not, for reasons FTL (above) has shown.

You folks who still vote will have a choice of either Hitler or Stalin. Good luck with that.

Well, the Revolution will happen in any case, because the looters have destroyed the dollar. It just doesn't know it's dead yet.

Never been there myself but I have heard it said that people in Hell want ice water.

That having been said, the fact that a man like Christie could even think that he could become the GOP nominee for President says an awful lot about the GOP. The fact that some people feel he could win if nominated says an awful lot about the American people.

And at least in my humble opinion the things being said to not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about the future whether Christie gets the GOP nod or not. You see, Christie, Clinton, and people like them are not the problem. The problem is the way that the American people's expectations of their own government and their view of their government's role in their lives have become so distorted from the same feelings held in 1789 that very likely the Republic is doomed regardless of who is POTUS 45.

You see, there is no such thing as "free" anything. And you can't tax the rich enough to pay for your "free" stuff. There's a reason they're called "the 1%". There aren't very many of them.

Anyone who tells you different is a liar or seriously misinformed. Perhaps you should consider voting for someone else.

Chris Christie as GOP candidate for POTUS in '16 is about the only thing I can imagine that could induce me to vote for Hillary. That or I'd grab my dog, load the SUV and head out for the back country to wait out TEOTWAWKI. Either one of them would be an outstanding argument for withdrawing from society completely and becoming a hermit.

Bad enough to have to choose between BHO and John McCain, having to choose between Hillary and Governor Blimp is no choice at all.

Christie Kreem will never make it past the primaries. He's not a good liar and is counting on rhetoric to get him by. I AM grateful that S993 was vetoed but still concerned that he believes gubberment can regulate/legislate away the crazys. That's just stupid.

Fat & Stupid is no way to go through life, son.
