"Who hath measured the ground?" Washington Times swallows Operation American Spring's wild claims of strength.

Messenger: My lord high constable, the English lie within fifteen hundred paces of your tents.
Constable: Who hath measured the ground?
-- The Life of King Henry the Fifth, Act 3, Scene 7.
Operation American Spring to hit D.C. to oust Obama, Biden, Boehner, Holder
A group of self-described revolutionary-style patriots with a million mobilized militia members are heading to downtown Washington, D.C., this week to bring a simple message to political leadership, from President Obama to House Speaker John Boehner: Get out. , ,
The group expects between 10 million and 30 million similarly thinking Americans to meet them in the capital on Friday for a rally that’s being billed as a sort of “Arab Spring” for Americans.

Yeah I hear these "patriots" have arrest warrants to arrest the POTUS. That should be interesting, give the media another reason to point their fingers at the Tea Party and call us nuts ..... sigh, I really am getting a little burnt out I think.

Another act of war against America's patriot movement and honest citizens.

I do not believe the claim to numbers.

But I do believe someone will show up to provide soundbites and just enough news video to further defame, degrade, demonize, and de-legitimize the patriot movements.

If a million militia members try to depose our elected leaders, I might have to re-think who's side I'm on. Where are they going to find a million people who would violate their oaths to defend the Constitution?

The reason they are touting this ten million is so IF hundreds of thousands or even a million show up they can diminish it all by saying attendance was abysmal.

This is a plant operation of mega proportion. Think about it. Why plan a gathering like this right at graduation time ?

This while thing stinks as a propaganda effort to ensure there isn't a REAL march on Washington. Frankly, not enough people are feelin the pain enough yet for the REAL march to be happening. This is absolutely an attempt to blunt that and push it back - stalling stalling stalling

I do hope they have millions show up but.... I checked their website and went to their forums. Number of posts is in the thousands (single-digit thousands btw).
I really doubt that such a group can put millions in the streets in DC.
They really expect that 1% of the entire US population is going to make the trip?
I hope I'm wrong...

If only it were true.

Fools!

They're expecting maybe as much as TEN PERCENT of the ENTIRE POPULATION of the country to show up in DC tomorrow. All at once. Has anyone noticed the East Coast Traffic Jam of 2014 (that alone should shut down the country, without ever making it to DC)? Did anyone check with airlines and bus companies to see if they're all booked up?

Oh. Wait. Hallucinations don't need travel arrangements. Or a hundred thousand portapotties on the Mall. Or food for 30 million.

Freedom has a price. When you naysayers have had enough, you will be fighting the tyrants. We have not reached that point yet, unless you crave the shackles that are about to be put on you.

Get out the beer and buffalo wings. This could be entertaining.

I'm disappointed to read so many posts from nattering naybobs who want to disparage this effort. Why do you want to disparage it? At least these people are trying to do something. It would appear that you people believe that there is some antiseptic surgical way to solve this problem 100% with the flick of a switch and that short of something that easy, we may as well not try at all. I feel sorry for you. You do not understand that this will be one of the bloodiest longest most violent battles in the history of mankind - and we may not even survive it. What is coming, what must come, will not be easy. You are deluding yourselves if you think otherwise. This effort in D.C. may fail, but it must happen all the same. It is just the beginning even if only the beginning of the end.

"At least these people are trying to do something."

As compared to WHAT, exactly? No plan. No support infrastructure. Just "show up and arrest somebody"? Leaders, assuming these people ARE leaders, have to have a plan and take some care for executing that plan. This is a poorly-thought-out recipe for a public relations and humanitarian disaster, IF they don't fall on their faces, which seems likely.

Leaders, if they are leaders, have to do more than wish in one hand, shit in the other and dream about which one's going to fill up first.

i remember when there were only 70 of us at gravelly point, and about that many from the press. since then, i have found a few more people willing to speak out about the the poor quality of the government. but there are many who fear the government and will not speak out against it. about that many more that are satisfied with their freebies and so will not speak out against it. but no way will much more that just a few hundred be willing to go that deep into enemy territory and risk it. not even in george orwell's dreams can you get 30 million to go. 4gw says we should make them come out of their den to us.

Im doubting the numbers
Im also going to say, if this is an unarmed protest than whats the dam point

@Anonymous: I can't, and won't try to, speak for anyone else, but I'm not disparaging the idea. For those with any faith left in the possibility of salvaging what used to be America, it's a fine thing. The alternatives are civil war (extremely unlikely, lacking some unforeseen shift) or a gradual decline into an Anthem-esque future (most likely). Personally, I lack that faith anymore; ditto the energy that I wasted for the past few decades trying.

What I am disparaging is the complete disconnect from reality that lets Riley et al seemingly believe as late as Wednesday that in two days they'd have 10-30 million people marching on the National Mall, despite the lack of indication of such numbers (again, as much as a tenth of the total population of the USA) actually converging on DC. Forget conspiracy theories of gov and media conniving to fail to report that... you'd damned well see the traffic.

That isn't quite sane. It certainly isn't the thinking needed to plan such an event for real. Yet they're still insisting on those numbers. If I were still capable of faith, I'd have more if I saw some sign that they're revising plans and estimates to account for the lack of tens of millions of participants. Or some indication that they're lining up support infrastructure for even a few hundred thousand (which at this point is also not realistic, but at least we'd see them reacting to real world indicators instead of hallucination and delusion).

I was at the 9/12 Tea party event in DC in 2009. We had 300k+ people. Good speakers and a bunch of good people from every state. Nothing really came of it, MSM ignored it. CSPAN had the best coverage.

Nothing will happen until they come for the guns, just like the first American Revolution. Then we will have to band together and risk it all or become slaves to the tyrants. Keep your powder dry and watch your six. Small groups or large militias, the time to band together and train is now.

Mike, I agree that there has to be a plan. I can't imagine that the retired Col. Harry Riley does not have a plan. I doubt that he would make it public before the event will take place. I doubt they actually plan to arrest Obama but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a few hundred thousand people there in Washington to make a point. We'll see.

Why weren't they at Bundy Ranch? Says it all, don't it?

If they do go on the National Mall I hope they have the sense to pull up the range stakes when they first get there.

Nice to see you still doing everything you can to undermine patriots. You serve your communist masters well.

I'll never ceased to be amazed at how much time people waste, pondering the choices that other people make.

I guess we simpletons are just too overloaded figuring out our own choices.

I've read the entire plan. It assumes peaceful protests will carry some measure of weight.
.
This is a demonstrably flawed assumption.
.
You're dealing with tyrannical thugs who respect superior force. Nothing else garners their respect and obedience. Failure to address them with this, will mean failure to get results.

In short, if you don't show up ready AND WILLING to shoot the bastards, you're wasting you're wasting your time.

There's a lot that can be learned from stuff like this. The same commie website that blocked me when they were taking it out on you that their heroes had to stop stealing cows was among the first to start gloating. A man that I can talk to got quoted by the Washington Times in their new article here http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/16/operation-american-spring-falls-flat-very-disappoi/ I will stay tuned and hope that good people don't get in trouble.
