Pa. legislator calls for mental health testing of gun owners and their families

One of the more outrageous and offensive citizen disarmament proposals that has come to light in recent days and is being discussed on gun boards is a screed by Pennsylvania Rep. Ronald G. Waters, representing the 191st Legislative District in Delaware and Philadelphia counties, titled “Responsible gun owners should welcome sensible gun laws.”

"...Military-style guns are proven to be nothing more than killing machines in the hands of irresponsible civilians".

The same could be said for hammers, baseball bats, golf clubs and other clubs, as more people die from blunt force trauma than from rifle rounds, according to the FBI for the past six years. Even hands, fists and feet killed more than rifles. However, it would not be received well to advocate state oversight in the acquisition and usage of hammers, baseball bats, golf clubs and other clubs. That would raise questions as to the mental health of the one suggesting that.
